Communion

I went
searching
for grace
on the back
porch, found
it moldering
green, licking
slow biting
swallowing
the base
of a terra
cotta pot.

This post is offered for the Searching for Grace writing project.

poetry is much like this very poem of communion in that one takes in the food of the words, chews it, lets it digest and it becomes a part of their life in some way.

The grace of decomposition. Decomposition as communion. There's a lot to think about here. And I'm thinking, I'm thinking.

the poem has a depth to it. very good use of words to show how grace clings to the surface and can be all encompassing in the sense of a swallowing up.

also, any insight on www.longridgewritersgroup.com
thanks.
